Course levels explained
Taster/BlasuTaster course/Blasu:
These short courses introduce you to the Welsh language. Content will include pronunciation, greetings and other basic phrases.

Entry/MynediadEntry/Mynediad:
This is the course for you if you're an absolute beginner. You need to consider how quickly you need to learn. If you want to achieve fluency look for our courses called Wlpan. You can also learn at a leisurely pace with a once a week course. All courses concentrate on the spoken language at this level.

Entry2/Mynediad2 courseEntry 2/Mynediad 2:
The beginner's course - part 2. For those learning once weekly. Not applicable for intensive courses.

Foundation/SylfaenFoundation/Sylfaen:
You have normally completed either Wlpan or Mynediad before progressing to the Foundation (Canol-Wlpan for an intensive course) level courses. However if you have some prior knowledge of Welsh this course could be suitable for you.

Intermediate/Canolradd courseIntermediate/Canolradd:
This course follows on from the Foundation Level courses. You will be developing all four language skills to approximately GCSE level.

Advanced/Uwch courseAdvanced/Uwch:
As the name implies this is a high level course designed for adults that will further improve your reading and writing skills in Welsh and enable you to converse fluently.

Proficiency/Hyfedredd courseProficiency/Hyfedredd:
This is the highest level course in which you will use Welsh as a medium of study to learn and to discuss a variety of subjects.
