There are all kinds of Welsh for Parents courses available across North Wales. Search here for a course that suits you.
All children in schools in Wales either speak or learn Welsh – in fact, 40% of all children aged 5-15 can speak Welsh. You may not have had the opportunity to learn Welsh when you were in school, or you may have lost some of your Welsh or lack confidence to use the language, but learning together as a family is a fantastic and fun way to bring out your collective Cymraeg.
If your children are learning Welsh at school you've got a great opportunity to learn with them by enrolling on your own Welsh course. The North Wales Welsh for Adults Centre is meeting the massive demand from parents who want to learn Welsh by offering courses specifically tailored towards family learning, giving you the chance to start chatting to your kids in Welsh.
As well as having family-related content, the courses are held at family friendly times. If you want to learn while your children are at school or nursery then there'll no doubt be a course available. There will also be family events thrown in so you can all enjoy using the language socially.
Parents across the region are already reaping the benefits of learning Welsh – helping their kids with homework, using the language when they're out and about, learning about their local culture and getting grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends involved.
